Natural Rose Quartz: The Gentle Bloom of Love’s Stone
Rose Quartz, a variety of quartz (SiO₂), is renowned for its delicate pink to rosy hue, ranging from nearly white to medium-dark pink. Its enchanting color results from trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese, while some specimens derive their tint from microscopic inclusions of dumortierite or other minerals. Unlike crystalline quartz varieties such as amethyst, Rose Quartz is often translucent to opaque and rarely forms distinct crystals, typically appearing in massive formations. The most captivating shades are usually found in larger specimens, as smaller stones with rich coloration are rare. Due to its usual massive form, well-shaped Rose Quartz crystals are highly prized.
Some in the trade call it “pink crystalline quartz,” “crystalline rose quartz,” or simply “pink quartz.”
