Coming from the "heart and home" of pearls, Japan offers the most popular line of Akoya Pearls in the world market. Famous for its classic white or cream Akoya Pearl chain.

Historically, natural Akoya pearls were captured in the wild by AMAs , the legendary female divers of Japan.

Akoya Pearl was first successfully cultured in 1893 by Sir Kokichi Mikimoto -“Father of Cultured Pearls”, a great achievement that gave rise to the pearl culture industry we know today.

Akoya Cultured Pearls are cultured in marine farms in Japan, China and Vietnam. Over 95% of Akoya Pearls are cultured in the Sea of Japan

Akoya Cultured Pearls are cultured from Pinctada Fucata oysters.

Akoya Pearl Color: Rose, Silver or Cream.

Common pearl sizes from 6mm – 8mm, large over 12mm are very rare. Akoya is the smallest pearl in the world.
